Clip Indication in the Subwoofers

RCF Support RCF Support

The clipping in our active subwoofers is an indication of when a soft compression begins to reduce the level first, then a hard limiting to prevent damage to the transducers. Working with satellites compatible talking about sound pressure level, you do not have to worry if the clipping LED lights up also because the speaker still has 6-8 dB of margin before going into hard limiting, and even in that case, there are no risks. If you see that increasing the input level, the output is not enough to match your Tops, you have two options: add another sub or go with a different model, which is, of course, more powerful.
